White Lodging, owner of Spring Hill Suites in Milwaukee, seeks a General Maintenance Tech to join the engineering team. Pay starts at $21 per hour, depending on experience, with benefits starting Day 1.

The role supports the hotel’s engineering team in maintaining the property to meet White Lodging, Brand, and Guest standards. Responsibilities include maintenance, supervising aspects of engineering, and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Maintenance: general upkeep of hotel property and equipment.
• Carpentry, plumbing, painting duties as needed.
• Willingness to continue developing in trade areas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the hotel’s maintenance and upkeep standards are met.
• Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing and supervising Engineering functions.
• Clean engineering areas in a neat, safe, and efficient manner.
• Complete all work safely and communicate tool/supply needs to supervisors.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; manage spare parts and bulbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a General Maintenance Technician, you will support the hotel’s engineering team in maintaining the property’s appearance, functionality, and safety to meet White Lodging, Brand, and Guest standards.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure the hotel’s maintenance and upkeep standards meet WL, Brand, and Guest standards.
• Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing and supervising all aspects of the Engineering function of the hotel.
• Clean all engineering areas as directed, working in a neat and efficient manner to help maintain effective operations.
• Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner while maintaining communication with supervisors regarding tools, supplies, and materials.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation and maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Ability to perform general carpentry, plumbing, and painting duties and operate hand and power tools.
• Basic working knowledge of general maintenance with a desire to continue developing in a trade area (e.g., electrical, carpentry).
• Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 10 lbs. regularly and 25 lbs. occasionally, and ability to stand and move for long periods of time.
• At least one year of maintenance experience required.
