Bethel University of Tennessee seeks a General Maintenance Technician to maintain campus buildings, facilities, and grounds safely and efficiently. You will perform preventive and general maintenance, respond to requests, and help keep the campus welcoming for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
The role involves operating climate control systems, performing routine mechanical maintenance, and assisting with event setup. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma are required.
The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the university's buildings, facilities, and grounds in a safe, functional, and attractive condition. This position performs a variety of preventive maintenance, repair, and general maintenance tasks to support the daily operations of the campus. The General Maintenance Technician contributes to a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors by responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring campus facilities are well maintained.

Bachelor’s degree or certifications in related field(s).
1 year of commercial maintenance experience. Basic carpentry.
Working knowledge of plumbing, electric, HVAC.
Work requires the physical demands of standing, bending, lifting, stooping or performing other work requiring moderate to heavy physical exertion (up to 30 pounds) on an occasional basis (up to 15% of time) and frequent walking; or moderate physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) on an intermittent basis (not a routine part of the job).
Work involves frequent exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements, may involve exposure to a variety of elements which are potentially hazardous or harmful which require exercise of well defined precautions for protection from injury or illness.
