Job summary

Carillon Senior Living in Lubbock, TX is seeking a General Maintenance Technician. This full-time role offers an hourly wage of $16–$20 and involves maintaining the physical plant, performing routine repairs, and assisting residents with non-healthcare needs.

The position requires at least a high school diploma/GED, some technical training, and experience in construction/maintenance. Strong communication and tool proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience in building construction and/or maintenance.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Skilled in use of machinery, tools, and construction supplies.
• Understanding of general construction and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of the physical plant under supervision.
• Perform general maintenance: fix wall/floor coverings, minor plumbing, electrical, appliance repairs.
• Complete work orders daily per policy.
• Paint and refurbish projects as directed.
• Install locks, create keys, manage keys across campus.
• Troubleshoot systems including HVAC-related items.
• Assist residents with daily non-health care needs.

Who you are:

Summary:

The General Maintenance person is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant. Conducting under supervisor direction, preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, building equipment and plumbing repairs.

• Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair and appliance repairs.
• Completes assigned work orders daily according to work order system policy.
• Performs painting and refurbishing projects, as directed by supervisor.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor.
• Installs locks, creates keys, re-key cylinders, and tracks outstanding keys for entire campus.
• Troubleshoot and install PERS call system.
• Installs phone, cable, and network lines.
• Fixes plumbing and lighting fixtures.
• Tests, fixes, install, and replace appliances.
• Troubleshoots heating and cooling systems.
• Hangs pictures, moves furniture, and assists residents with daily non-health care needs.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

EQUIPMENT USED

The General Maintenance employee will use the following equipment: construction and maintenance tools and supplies, heavy machinery, motorized vehicles, electrical appliances, computer and various computer programs, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and heavy phone usage.
