Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a General Maintenance Technician in Michigan to perform preventive and reactive maintenance. The role requires plumbing, carpentry, doors, painting skills and a willingness to work the 6:00am–2:30pm shift.

You will handle repairs across conveyors and facilities, respond to spills, and help keep equipment and structures in good working order. A valid driver’s license is required and basic hand tools proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and able to work in facilities environments.
• State Driver's License required.
• Ability to perform preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of power and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Completes preventive and reactive maintenance repairs on equipment and facilities.
• Responds to spills and emergencies and performs necessary tasks.
• Maintains and ensures proper operation of plumbing, structure, and doors.

Overview

ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a General Maintenance Technician to complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs. Working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, doors: interior and exterior, painting, is required. 1st shift 6:00am to 2:30pm

Pay: $23.49

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs requiring conveyor, mechanical, plumbing, instrumentation, and other equipment, systems or structures
• Ensures repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities
• Responds to spills and other emergency situations, performing tasks necessary

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific environments (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available.
• A valid State Drivers License is required.
• Basic knowledge of proper use of power tools, hand tools.
• Recognize various hardware parts and methods of repair for related tasks.
• Must posses organizational skills.
• Must be able to perform unsupervised.
