Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. in Golden, CO is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. The role requires 4+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, a valid US driver’s license, and strong customer-facing communication.

You will support the GMT supervisor and help uphold high workmanship and safety standards on site. Responsibilities include coordinating moves, basic carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical tasks, and assisting electricians and plumbers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a General Maintenance Technician in Golden, CO. The Technician will report daily to the GMT supervisor and support him to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment. Qualified applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and have at least 4 years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance in dealing with a wide range of general type services. Candidate must have strong communication skills and be able to foster strong relationships with customers, vendors, and team members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Communicates effectively with GMT supervisor to determine service needs. Coordinates office and furniture moves while performing service on site.

General maintenance tasks such as changing ceiling tiles, touching up walls, hanging pictures and artwork as requested and assisting other technicians as needed.

Plumbing skills, Lavatory sinks sets, restroom fixtures, clean drains.

Preforms preventative maintenance, HVAC equipment, and electrical systems.

Performs a wide variety of corrective maintenance work request as directed.

Assisting in outdoor snow removal details by shoveling salting and running snow equipment.

Assist in the repair, replacement, and refurbishing of all electrical components

Assist the electrician in all functions and follow necessary safety norms and regulations.

Assist the Plumbing GMT in all functions and follow necessary safety norms and regulations.

Qualifications

Education

(HS Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.)

High school diploma or GED

Business Experience

(prior years work/related experience)

3 years of experience related to facility maintenance.

Licenses/Certifications

Valid US driver’s license.

Age Requirement

Must be 21 Years of Age or older

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of an organization.

Technical Qualifications & Skills

general maintenance and repairs in the areas of plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, and ground maintenance

Must maintain a professional appearance and have excellent customer service and communication skills.

Basic knowledge of electrical, painting/patching walls, cutting & replacement of ceiling tiles, basic carpentry and furniture repair skills.

Ability to follow instructions and complete a variety of general maintenance type tasks assigned. Hang pictures and stocking of the supply room shelves.

Basic use of computer skills for reporting, researching and effective communication.

Organization skills to maintain the client facility maintenance records and reports.

Physical Demands

The ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders, carry office moving boxes and ability to walk the facility throughout the day are required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Work Environment

Must be willing to work overtime when required and may be required to work holidays and/or weekends at times. We are responsible for snow removal and there are times in the Winter season when most of the day is spent outdoors in cold/snow conditions. We are also responsible for landscaping and there are times in the summer season when time is spent outdoors in hot/sunny conditions.
