Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to join our military housing team at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. This role maintains a federal facility and requires basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills, plus a valid driver's license.

You will respond to service calls, transport appliances, perform repairs, update work orders on mobile devices, and ensure safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Less than 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• A current driver’s license in good standing and ability to meet driving records standards.
• Basic competency in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades.
• Ability to provide basic tools and equipment necessary to perform daily duties.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Sharp customer service skills.
• Ability to read and write in English, to understand basic instructions and take direction from supervisors.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
• This position is located at a federal facility with REAL ID requirement to access the facility.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls and complete maintenance work orders.
• Transport, install and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers and other appliances.
• Load/unload trucks and conveyances; move supplies with wheelbarrows or hand trucks.
• Repair and fabricate window/door screens and frames.
• Operate power tools and lawn equipment; clean job sites and perform site clean-up.
• Update work order status and submit paperwork accurately from mobile devices.
• Maintain vehicle and vehicle inventory as prescribed.

About the Opportunity

WinnCompanies is looking for a General Maintenance Technician to join our military housing team at Peterson Space Force Base located in Colorado Springs, CO.

The pay range for this role is $22.18-$25.50 per hour. In accordance with the REAL ID Act, effective May 7, 2025, a REAL ID compliant driver’s license/ID is required in order to access the federal facility.Applications will be accepted for this position until October 6th, 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to service calls, complete Change of Occupancy Maintenance work and other property maintenance requests.
• Transport, install and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers and other electrical and gas appliances.
• Load and unload trucks and other conveyances.
• Move supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks.
• Stack materials for storage or binning collecting refuse and salvageable materials.
• Transport equipment, furnishings and appliances to job sites.
• Repair and fabricate window and door screens and frames.
• Dig, fill and tamp earth excavations; level grounds using pick, shovel, tamper and rake; shovel concrete; clean culverts and ditches; cut tree and brush; operate power tools and lawn mowers.
• Remove floor tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic floor tile and plywood.
• Remove damaged drywall.
• Operate power blowers or use brooms to clean roof tops, sidewalks and driveways of leaves and debris.
• Ensure work-site clean up.
• Respond to and complete on-call after hour emergency and urgent repairs.
• Update work order status including time, materials and notes on mobile devices provided in an accurate and timely manner.
• Complete and submit all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Keep supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts, problems identified/potential problems, etc.; recommend corrective actions to supervisor.
• Maintain vehicle and vehicle inventory as prescribed.

Requirements:
