Job description

Overview

Performs general maintenance as directed and as necessary on all aspects of building structure and systems to include floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, HVAC, transportation systems, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other items.

Plumbing experience (commercial or residential) is strongly preferred. This position falls under "Mission Essential" personnel status. Eligible candidates must live within 30 minutes or less from the Sentara Martha Jefferson Campus.

Position requires rotating weekends, shifts, and on-call as required.

Education

• High school diploma/equivalent or Trade School diploma

Certification/Licensure

• No specific certification or licensure requirements
• Valid Driver's License in VA or NC (in good standing)

Experience

• 1-2 years of previous experience in facilities maintenance. Commercial experience is strongly preferred.
• Previous plumbing knowledge and experience is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working on a team that supports other maintenance/facilities areas as needed (Electrical, HVAC, etc).
