Job summary

Elbit Systems of America, LLC in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a skilled General Maintenance technician to install, maintain, repair, and inspect production and facility equipment. The role supports the Warfighter Systems team and contributes to national security commitments.

You will perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and production systems, follow EPA standards, and document logs while ensuring safe operations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years proven general maintenance experience.
• Electrical Journeyman license required; EPA 608 Freon Recovery Certification required.
• Industrial electrical experience preferred; strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift 25–30 pounds and obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and inspect production and facility equipment.
• Install and maintain HVAC equipment per EPA standards using a refrigeration recovery system.
• Perform preventative maintenance: change belts, grease bearings, alignments, and wire electrical motors.
• Complete inspections and logs; proper waste handling per guidelines.
• Assist with outside custodial duties as needed.

Job Description

General maintenance is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of both production and facility-related equipment.

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Good mechanical aptitude, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability


• Installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment in compliance with EPA standards using a refrigeration recovery system.


• Installation and maintenance of production and facilities equipment


• Perform preventative maintenance: change belts, grease bearings, alignments, and wire electrical motors, including low voltage, 120V, 240V, 277V, 480V


• Complete inspections and logs as required


• Proper handling of Universal/Hazardous waste. Complete per EHS guidelines.


• Perform outside custodial duties such as snow removal, application of salt melt, etc.


• Perform an inventory of equipment spare parts


• Experience using various hand and power tools, multi-meter, Freon recovery system, air flow instrumentation etc.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years proven general maintenance experience AND/OR Technical certifications, Electrical Journeyman license, EPA 608 Freon Recovery Certification


• Industrial electrical experience preferred


• Good verbal and written communication skills


• Team player, ability to work with other groups to complete tasks.


• Candidate must be able to lift 25 to 30 pounds.


• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
