Job summary

Grand Hyatt Washington in downtown Washington, D.C. is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer, starting in November, to join our engineering team.

You will perform maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public spaces, meeting areas and front-of-house spaces, with some work on mechanical, electrical, kitchen and laundry equipment. Flexibility to work weekends/holidays and a 7:00am–11:30pm shift is required.

Qualifications

• Building maintenance experience or experience in a hotel is preferred
• Good customer service skills are required
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally

Responsibilities

• Maintain general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, meeting space, and front of house areas
• Repair mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment as needed
• Communicate effectively with guests and team members
• Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays, typically 7:00am–11:30pm

A General Maintenance Engineer will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, meeting space, and front of the house areas. They may also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, and good communication skills are required. This person must have the flexibility to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays, and the ability to work a varied schedule typically between 7:00am - 11:30pm.

The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.01 commensurate with experience.
