Andaz Miami Beach is recruiting a General Maintenance Engineer III to join the hotel’s opening team. This art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to a luxury lifestyle hotel opening in early 2025 in Mid-beach. The hotel features 287 guestrooms, including 34 suites, with ocean-view arrival experiences, unique design elements, and amenities like a spa, fitness center, dining by José Andrés, pools, and a Beach Club. It offers 25,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor event space, embracing Miami’s vibrant culture.

Position Summary

A General Maintenance Engineer III is responsible for general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

1. Perform maintenance on hotel, pool, and surrounding areas, including minor painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC tasks using hand tools.
2. Notify management for major repairs or upgrades.
3. Respond to guest service requests and keep records.
4. Program TVs and manage inventory related to engineering.
5. Test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
6. Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
7. Monitor utility readings daily.
8. Ensure stock levels of parts and supplies.
9. Learn emergency procedures.
10. Complete additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum three years’ experience in electrical/mechanical systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Practice safe work habits and use PPE.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and see repairs through.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, climb, and work in various conditions.
