Job summary

Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino in Incline Village, NV is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to manage repair and preventative maintenance across guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficient operation of hotel systems.

The position requires performing mechanical, electrical, painting, carpentry, and plumbing tasks, maintaining records, and responding to service requests promptly.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Ability to listen, understand and clarify issues.
• Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Ability to complete heavy work - exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must work afternoon/evening shifts for weekends & be flexible to cover vacations & time off requests.
• Follow Hyatt standards and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain facility building and equipment
• Handle guest room maintenance requests in a timely fashion
• Perform preventative maintenance throughout the property such as mechanical, electrical, painting, carpentry and plumbing
• Maintain accurate maintenance records
• Respond and resolve engineering service requests in courteous, efficient manner
• Maintain engineering work area in an orderly and clean fashion
• Ensure all tools/equipment used are returned to the shop and/or secured in proper storage area
• Assist in handling emergencies in order to protect our guests and team members and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency
• Follow proper lost and found procedures for items left behind in a guest room
• Report any items in need of repair
• Follow all safety procedures while working
• Comply at all times with Hyatt standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
• Follow all hotel and departmental procedures and policies
• Perform any other duties as requested by management
• Approach all encounters with guests and colleagues in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the overall maintenance and functionality of the hotel property not limited to guest rooms, front of house, back of house and public areas. Responsible forsuccessful completion of assignedmaintenance duties and daily tasks. He/she is also responsible for performing the job in a safe and efficient manner and performing trade jobs, such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc. This position requires someone who is self-driven, eager & willing to work alone and as a team. Estimated Schedule to include PM Shifts of 3:00pm-11:00pm with a guaranteed two days off. Prefer someone who can be willing to learn all shifts and must be able to work holidays and weekends. Guaranteed consecutive Days off unless requested otherwise.
