Job summary

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is seeking a General Maintenance 3 - Plumber to perform master level plumbing and related trades in an industrial maintenance setting. Duties include masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and welding as needed, plus building upkeep, drywall, flooring, door & lock work, and minor equipment operation.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, at least five years of skilled trade experience, a valid Ohio driver’s license, ability to lift 100 lbs, basic computer

Responsibilities

• Performs master level skilled trade work in Plumbing.
• Performs building maintenance including drywall, carpentry, flooring, locksmithing, and related tasks.
• Operates light equipment and supports road and drainage projects.
• Provides work direction to seasonal employees as assigned.
• Maintains safety and reports key issues to supervisor.
• Responds to fire alarm systems when required.

This includes, but is not limited to, the skills of masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, etc., as they relate to industrial building maintenance and construction.1. **Performs master level skilled trade work in Plumbing.**2. Performs aspects of building maintenance including, but not limited to, drywall installation, cabinetry, flooring, locksmithing, ceiling tile repairs, plumbing, electrical, welding, etc., as assigned.3. Operates light equipment such as tractors, chain saws, generators, trucks and occasionally light construction equipment.4. Provides construction labor for road and path paving, drainage tile, wood deck installation and other construction projects.5. Provides work direction to seasonal employees, as assigned.6. Paints buildings, fences, structures, etc., as directed.7. Responds to fire alarm systems, when required.8. Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain safe work environment and surrounding area.9. Keeps supervisor informed of key issues.10. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.**Equipment Used (Not Limited To):*** Special skilled trades tools (i.e., power saws, drills, chain saws, welding equipment, electrical test equipment, etc.)* Various vehicles including backhoe, tractor, dump truck, bucket truck, etc.* Personal computer### Requirements* High school diploma or equivalent.* A minimum of five (5) years skilled trade work experience in construction or maintenance preferred.* Physical capacity to perform outdoor labor and normal duties (commonly lifting 100 lbs.).* Valid Ohio driver's license.* Position requires initiative, responsibility and ability to exercise independent judgment.* Basic computer skills.* Back flow certification preferred.**Work Schedule:** Sunday-Thursday 7am-3:30pm**Wage Details:** The base rate for this position is $36.19 per hour**Application Deadline:** Open until filled
