Job summary

Waterford Hotel Group is seeking a dependable General Maintenance Associate to support day-to-day upkeep of the Hutton Brickyards property. You will handle repairs across guest rooms, public areas, and outdoor spaces, performing painting, drywall patching, plumbing, and carpentry as needed.

The role requires a hands-on, self-starting individual with strong attention to detail and a willingness to assist in various maintenance tasks. Hotel environment experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in general maintenance or property upkeep preferred.
• Basic knowledge of painting, drywall repair, plumbing, carpentry, and maintenance tasks.
• Able to safely use common hand and power tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Good communication and courteous attitude toward guests and associates.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs throughout the property.
• Complete routine tasks such as painting, drywall patching, caulking, light bulb replacement, and minor plumbing repairs.
• Assist with carpentry, furniture repairs, and handyman projects.
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and assist with preventive tasks.
• Maintain exterior areas and walkways; perform seasonal maintenance like snow removal.
• Report significant repairs or safety concerns to senior staff.

Hutton Brickyards is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and hands‑on General Maintenance Associate to assist with the day‑to‑day upkeep, repairs, and overall maintenance of our property.

This position is responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance tasks to ensure our buildings, guest accommodations, grounds, and common areas remain clean, safe, functional, and well‑maintained. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to assist wherever needed.

Responsibilities Include:

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs throughout the property, including guest rooms, public areas, buildings, and outdoor spaces.
• Complete routine maintenance tasks such as painting, patching drywall, caulking, replacing light bulbs, and minor plumbing repairs.
• Assist with basic carpentry, furniture repairs, and general handyman projects.
• Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, common areas, and property grounds to identify maintenance needs.
• Respond promptly to guest and associate maintenance requests.
• Assist with preventive maintenance tasks to keep the property in good working condition.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of exterior areas, walkways, and property grounds.
• Perform seasonal maintenance duties, including snow removal, shoveling, and clearing walkways.
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials as needed.
• Maintain and properly store tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
• Report any significant repairs, safety concerns, or equipment issues to the Chief Engineer or General Manager.
• Follow all company safety procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a positive guest experience.
• Perform additional maintenance and property upkeep duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in general maintenance, property upkeep, handyman work, or a similar role preferred.
• Basic knowledge of painting, drywall repair, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to safely use common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to complete tasks independently.
• Good communication skills and a professional, courteous attitude toward guests and fellow associates.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Dependable, flexible, and willing to assist with a variety of maintenance and property‑related tasks.
• Previous hotel, resort, or hospitality maintenance experience is a plus but not required.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
