Job summary

Wilson Elser is seeking an Attorney with 10+ years of litigation experience to join a seasoned team handling general liability, casualty, construction-related lawsuits, transportation, and trucking matters.

The role emphasizes training and advancing professional experience, with a focus on NY Construction Law. A hybrid work arrangement is available, and the firm supports professional growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

JD from ABA-accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar
10+ years of substantial litigation experience
Experience with insurance defense, premises liability, and general liability
Demonstrated experience as first and/or second chair strongly desired
Advanced understanding of NY Construction Law (Labor Law §§200, 240, 241) preferred
Experience with OSHA proceedings and regulatory compliance preferred
Background in Corporation Counsel or District Attorney's Office a plus
Strong business acumen and project management capabilities
Tech-savvy with proficiency in legal research tools and case management software

Responsibilities

Independently manage cases in insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation liability, and NYS Labor Law construction matters.
Partner with attorneys, team members, and seasoned Partners on high-impact legal projects.
Regularly handle court appearances and depositions.
Engage closely with clients, delivering clear, timely updates and guidance to keep them informed.
