Job summary

Wilson Elser is seeking an experienced General Liability Litigation Of Counsel in the New York area. The role requires 10+ years of litigation experience, strong defense background in general liability, and a track record of first/second chair responsibilities.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active New York State Bar in good standing.
• 10+ years of substantial litigation experience.
• Experience with insurance defense, premises liability, and general liability.
• Demonstrated experience as first and/or second chair strongly desired.
• Advanced understanding of NY Construction Law (Labor Law §§200, 240, 241) preferred.
• Experience with OSHA proceedings and regulatory compliance preferred.
• Background in Corporation Counsel or District Attorney's Office a plus.
• Strong business acumen and project management capabilities.
• Tech-savvy with proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage cases in insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation liability, and NYS Labor Law construction matters.
• Partner with attorneys, team members, and seasoned Partners on high-impact legal projects.
• Regularly handle court appearances and depositions.
• Engage closely with clients, delivering clear, timely updates and guidance to keep them informed every step of the way.

The Position

We are seeking an Attorney with 10+ years of litigation experience to join a seasoned team of attorneys representing clients in a range of matters including general liability and casualty, construction-related lawsuits, transportation, and trucking, and more. This team is dedicated to training and advancing the professional experience and knowledge of its attorneys.

Wilson Elser offers a competitive salary and benefits package designed to support our attorneys both professionally and personally.

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Salary Range:

$190,000 - $225,000 USD
