Job summary

CyberCoders seeks a seasoned General Liability Attorney in Pittsburgh, PA for a hybrid work arrangement. You will defend insureds in personal injury and premises liability, handling all phases of litigation from intake to trial, with strategic advice to carriers and clients.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of civil litigation focused on general liability, strong negotiation and trial skills, and the ability to manage budgets and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active bar admission.
• 3–5 years civil litigation with focus on general liability and insurance defense.
• Trial experience including prep and in-court advocacy; arbitration/mediation experience.
• Knowledge of insurance law, coverage issues, and defense strategies.
• Strong negotiation and persuasive legal writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of general liability matters from intake to resolution.
• Conduct investigations reviewing policies, medical records, accident reports, and evidence.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs for carriers and insureds.
• Plan discovery strategy: depositions, written discovery, and expert disclosures.
• Lead trial preparation and represent clients at trial, arbitration, and mediation.
• Negotiate settlements protecting insurer interests and documenting recommendations.
• Provide risk assessment and coverage analysis to claims teams.
• Maintain case files, budgets, deadlines, and court-rule compliance.
• Communicate with carriers, insureds, claim handlers, and co-counsel; supervise staff as needed.
• Travel to courts, mediations, and depositions as required.
