Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with admission to the Florida Bar.
• 3–5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Experience taking or defending depositions.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partners, associates, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of general liability and insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Handle medical negligence, premises liability, personal injury defense, wrongful death, and other civil claims.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings and mediations.
• Assist with and participate in trial preparation and trials.
• Develop case strategy with partners and clients.
• Maintain organized case files and meet deadlines and reporting requirements.
• Meet billable-hour expectations while maintaining high-quality work.
