Job summary

Myers and Stauffer LC is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, project accounting, and general ledger activities. This hybrid role requires strategic leadership and a strong technical foundation.

You will lead the team, manage month-end close, prepare GAAP-compliant statements, and drive process improvements across the department. The ideal candidate will have SOX experience and a CPA, with excellent communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years progressive accounting and financial management.
• 2 years supervisory experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel/MS Office proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience with general ledger and month-end close.
• SOX experience preferred.
• CPA certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, manage, and mentor the accounting team.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and analyses.
• Oversee project revenue accounting and contract-to-project setup.
• Manage project billing and accounts receivable processes.
• Oversee accounts payable processing and vendor payments.
• Support audits and provide documentation to auditors.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
• Lead process-improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
