Job summary

Bob's Discount Furniture is seeking a General Ledger Accountant in Manchester, CT to support the finance group and partner with business operators. The role focuses on monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting, with exposure to fixed assets and internal controls.

Strong Excel skills and CPA are valued assets, along with SAP/Oracle Cloud experience. The team offers opportunities to drive improvements, work with various departments, and participate in external audit

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or comparable qualification.
• CPA preferred; strong systems aptitude and Excel skills.
• Experience with fixed assets and SOX knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with GL team and business partners to ensure accurate monthly close.
• Prepare and post journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
• Own daily banking and funding processes.
• Administer fixed asset accounting system and capital accounting.
• Develop and distribute reports; support internal needs and cross-department collaboration.
• Assist with external audits and controls compliance.
• Drive process improvements and tie out data and results.
• Handle ad-hoc projects as required.
