Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger Accountant II to join our centralized accounting team. This mid-level role is responsible for managing the month-end close process and preparing accurate financial statements for multiple entities, primarily non-profit corporations, with a moderate level of complexity.

This is a full-time, in-office position that operates in a fast-paced shared services environment. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial services to community associations across North America. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work under deadlines. Candidates must meet the Associa’s credit requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close processes and prepare accurate financial statements for multiple non-profit entities with varying levels of complexity
• Process and review monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, amortization, adjustments, and reclassifications
• Assist with budget development and ongoing budget administration
• Complete year-end close procedures in accordance with company and accounting standards
• Provide financial support to Community Association Managers (CAMs), Branch Financial Accounting Support Personnel (FASPs), and Association Boards of Directors (BODs) as needed
• Collaborate with internal departments—including Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), Data Management, Delinquency, Tax, and Banking—to resolve accounting issues and ensure data integrity
• Participate in special projects and assist with other accounting duties as assigned
• Availability for occasional weekend work may be required to meet deadlines
  
  

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience (minimum of 4 years with progressive responsibility), including at least 2 years of full-cycle General Ledger accounting experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a minimum of 1 year of full-cycle General Ledger accounting experience
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) standards
  
  

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

• Proven ability to interpret and apply industry-related regulations and accounting standards
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, including month-end close processes
• Working knowledge of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) transaction flows
• Ability to manage accounting for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy under tight deadlines
• Experience preparing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Skilled in budget creation, development, and administration
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with Complete Control for Communities (C3) software is preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of or experience in the Community Association Management industry is a plus
• Experience in a shared services accounting environment is preferred, but not required
