Job summary

Spudnik Equipment Company LLC is seeking a General Ledger Accountant with 2–3 years of accounting experience to support monthly financial close, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

The position will also assist with inventory accounting and manufacturing variance analysis, working with Accounting and Operations to investigate unusual transactions and root causes of variances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• U.S. GAAP knowledge and financial statement preparation.
• Strong Excel, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and issue resolution.
• Effective communication with accounting and operations teams.
• ERP experience; Infor CloudSuite/Syteline is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and support monthly and year-end close.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
• Review GL activity, research discrepancies, ensure accurate recording.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Reconcile inventory activity to GL and assist with cycle counts.
• Investigate variances with Operations, Sales, Aftersales, and other departments.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audit support, and other financial analysis as needed.

Spudnik Equipment Company is seeking a General Ledger Accountant with 2–3 years of accounting experience to support monthly financial close, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.The position will also assist with inventory accounting and manufacturing variance analysis, working with Accounting and Operations to investigate unusual transactions and understand the root causes of significant variances.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries and support the monthly and year-end close process.Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules.Review general ledger activity, research discrepancies, and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting.Maintain accounting schedules for accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.Reconcile inventory activity to the general ledger and assist with physical inventory and cycle count processes.Review inventory adjustments, manufacturing costs, and significant cost variances for accuracy.Investigate the root cause of significant variances and unusual transactions in partnership with Operations, Sales & Aftersales, and other departments.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audit support, and other financial analysis as needed.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and ERP reporting.Model company values – We listen, We walk our talk, We challenge tradition, We do the right thing, We work safe.Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.2–3 years of accounting experience.Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statements.Strong Excel, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow issues through to resolution.Ability to communicate effectively with accounting and operational employees.Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a manufacturing environment.Exposure to inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing variance analysis.Experience with an ERP system; Infor CloudSuite Industrial/Syteline experience is a plus.
