Job Summary:

The Tool and Die Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and proper functioning of tools and dies used in manufacturing processes. This role involves thorough cleaning, inspection, and minor maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning of tools and dies, including removal of debris, oil, and contaminants. Use appropriate cleaning agents and tools to ensure thorough cleaning without damage. Inspect tools and dies for wear or damage and report findings. Conduct minor repairs and adjustments.
2. Inspection and Documentation: Conduct detailed inspections, document conditions, and maintain records of cleaning schedules, inspections, and repairs.
3. Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, handle cleaning agents safely, dispose of waste properly, and adhere to safety protocols for forklift and crane operation.
4. Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with the Tooling Manager and team, communicate effectively, and assist in training new team members.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing or maintenance preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude, familiarity with tools and dies.
• Ability to use cleaning agents and equipment safely.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of safety regulations.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

Manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals and machinery. PPE required.

Schedule:

50-55 hours weekly, Monday to Saturday, 5:00am to 6:00pm (Monday to Friday), 5:00am to 12:00pm (Saturday).

Education Opportunities:

Apprenticeship program at Rock Valley for Tool & Die Journeyman training.
