Job summary

Ventura Coastal, LLC is seeking a full-time General Labor/Janitorial associate at the Visalia plant in Visalia, CA 93291. Duties include cleaning in the Production area, yard work, pallet repairs, and other manual labor as directed by supervision.

Responsibilities cover daily tasks, safety compliance, forklift operation, and support to maintain food safety and quality per HACCP CCPs. 12-hour shift coverage may apply when needed.

Qualifications

• Must have forklift license or the ability to obtain one.
• Ability to speak English desirable.
• High school graduate or equivalent desirable.
• Previous experience in a plant manufacturing environment preferred.

• Perform tasks such as cleaning Production areas, weed control, yard clean-up and other manual labor duties.
• Assist in preparing drums for Production, repairing pallets, handling packaging tasks as needed.
• Take hourly samples and ensure adherence to customer specifications.
• Safely operate and complete daily forklift checks.
• Follow CCPs and HACCP documentation for packaging and load-out.

Job Details: Job Location: Visalia Plant - Visalia, CA 93291, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $21.34 - $21.34 Hourly, Job Summary

Provide janitorial and general labor services in the manufacturing area as directed by supervisor. These tasks will change daily and may consist of cleaning in the Production area, weed control and yard clean‑up, or other manual labor duties as needed. In the absence of this position, these job duties will be performed by 12-hour shifts.

In the absence of this position, other General Labors will provide back‑up.

Primary Responsibilities

• Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
• Perform janitorial and general labor functions in the manufacturing area as needed and directed.
• Assist in a variety of manual labor tasks such as but not limited to preparing drums for use in Production, repairing wooden pallets, opening defective cased goods, cleaning floors in the Production area, assisting in weed control and yard clean‑up or other manual labor duties as needed.
• Collect pulp in appropriate containers as required.
• Take hourly samples ensure we target customer specification.
• Report all out of spec products to Supervisor or Lead on shift.
• Safely operate Forklift.
• Complete daily Forklift checks.
• Responsible to a specific CCP in the HACCP plan regarding:
  • CCP #2 – Juice Load Out or Packaging Screens.
  • CCP #4 – Packaging Integrity.
• Monitor CCP 2/4 and document packaging per shift.
• Follow all safety rules and practices to include the wearing of all essential personal protective equipment.
• Report all Hazard to Supervisor/Manager or enter in Industry Safe.
• Follow all personal hygiene and food safety practices.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance, consistent punctuality and a conscientious attitude always.
• Act professionally towards customers, vendors and other visitors to the plant.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Physical Requirements

The ability to meet flexible and changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure is a must. 100% standing, climbing ladders and stairs in a normal manufacturing environment. Ability to stand for the duration of the shift. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Ability to perform manual labor tasks for extended periods.
