Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking a Reman laborer. You will build material from a plant manager’s list to be shipped and affix labels to lumber packs. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and a full benefits package.

Duties include stacking lumber, loading/unloading, measuring cutting lines, keeping the reman area clean, maintaining inventory records, disposing of waste, and operating sawing equipment and kilns when needed.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or training required; high school diploma preferred.

• Observes all safety requirements, including Personal Protective Equipment.
• Stacks lumber or other wood products.
• Keeps reman area clean at all times, including staples, cross-outs, and any other damaged material.
• Load and unload lumber and timber.
• Measure and indicate cutting lines on lumber, timber, and finished goods.
• Maintain accurate record of job operations as well as up-to-date inventory.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste materials on completion of job operations.
• Sort and arrange lumber, timbers, and finished goods according to sizes and grades to allow for easy identification.
• Operate sawing equipment to make precise cuts.
• Utilize specialized equipment such as dry kilns in effectively drying lumber.
