Job summary

Hydro Extrusions is hiring a General Laborer in Portland to support packing operations at the Main Plant on the Grave Shift. You will receive packing orders, prepare materials, lift and bundle metal, and load items onto the conveyor for wrapping in a fast-paced production environment.

Starting pay is $19 per hour. This role requires basic English, ability to use common tools and measuring equipment, and reliable attendance in a safety-conscious workplace.

Qualifications

• Must read and understand basic commands in English.
• Must be able to use and maintain all basic tools and measuring equipment pertinent to their position.
• Must be able to keep up with a moderate speed conveyor line.
• Must be able to maintain regular / reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Receives and prints packing orders and confirms packing materials are available.
• Cuts wood on saw for packing or banding.
• With assistance, lifts metal from rack to packing cart and bundles per customer specs.
• Loads metal onto conveyor belt to go through auto wrapper.

Starting Rate of pay: $19 per hour

What you will be doing

• Receives and print packing order from computer and determinates that correct packing materials are avaiable at packing station.
• Cuts wood on saw to use for packing or banding.
• With assistance of a co-worker for long extrusions, lift metal from rack to packing cart and use prescribed material to hand bundles per customer specifications.
• Loads metal onto conveyor belt to go through auto wrapper.
• Other duties as assigned.
