Job summary

Barnhill Contracting Company is seeking a general laborer to support asphalt paving and grading crews on-site. You will perform unskilled tasks, assist with material handling, and act as a designated spotter for trucks and equipment.

Training will be provided, with emphasis on safety and adherence to instructions. The role may require weekend and some night work, and a valid NC driver’s license is encouraged.

Qualifications

• One year experience but training will be provided.
• Valid NC Driver's License encouraged.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks.
• Abide by precise instructions and safety rules.
• Maintain good attendance and safety record.
• Ability to work weekends and some nights.

Responsibilities

• Performs unskilled tasks on asphalt paving and grading operations.
• Shoveling asphalt, stone or dirt; uses tools like shovel, rake, broom, hammer, saw.
• May operate a farm-type tractor with power broom attachment.
• Serve as designated spotter for trucks and equipment; training provided.
