Job summary

Barnhill Contracting Company is seeking a general laborer to support asphalt paving and grading crews. You will perform unskilled tasks such as shoveling, sweeping, and material handling under guidance, ensuring safety and efficiency on site.

Responsibilities include acting as a designated spotter, using common hand tools, and complying with safety rules. Weekend and some night work may be required; valid NC driver license preferred for future opportunities.

Qualifications

• One year experience but will train the right person.
• Encourage a valid NC Drivers License.
• Willingness to learn multiple task.
• Ability to abide by precise instructions and strict but necessary safety rules and policies.
• Maintain a good attendance and safety record.
• Ability to work weekends and some nights.

Responsibilities

• Performs unskilled tasks associated with asphalt paving and grading operations.
• Assists with shoveling asphalt, stone or dirt.
• Operates or assists with tools listed above as needed.
• Serves as the designated spotter for trucks and equipment on the crew.
• Follows safety policies and instructions and works weekends/nights if required.
