Southern Cross, LLC is seeking a Meter Technician to inspect, paint, and maintain natural gas meter sets. This full-time role provides support for technical operations in pipeline maintenance and utility services, involving manual labor and specialized equipment.

Starting pay is $22.00 per hour with automatic increases of $0.50 at 60 and 180 days, and a comprehensive benefits package is available. Work is typically Monday–Friday, first shift, with potential overtime depending on project needs.

Formación

Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
Construction/utilities experience is a plus but not required.
Good senses of sight, hearing, smell, and color identification.
Flexibility for overtime and weekends.
Commitment to safety and adhering to safety regulations.
Physical requirements include bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles daily.

Responsabilidades

Work a route to complete meter painting and compliance orders in a timely manner and in accordance with training and procedures.
Stoop, bend, crawl, walk, climb ladders, and lift weights up to 50 lbs unassisted.
Assist with maintenance and repair of utility infrastructure such as pipelines and meters.
Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
Load and unload vehicles with materials and equipment, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times.
Recognize abnormal operating conditions and report to the supervisor.
Assist in regular inspections for Atmospheric Corrosion on meters.
Work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel to different job sites.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 1st Shift. Overtime depends on project needs.

Job Responsibilities

Work a route to complete meter painting and compliance orders in a timely manner and in accordance with training and procedures.

Recognize abnormal operating conditions such as corrosion meters under stress, etc., and report to the supervisor.
Assists in performing regular inspections for AOC (Atmospheric Corrosion) on Meters.
Required to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel to different job sites.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
Basic understanding of hand tools and power tools.
Prior experience in construction, utilities, or a related field is a plus but not required.
Keen senses of smell, hearing, vision, and color identification.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including overtime and occasional weekends, as job demands.
Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
Physical Requirements: Bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles per day; carrying up to 50 lbs of equipment.
