The General Labor role supports daily operations within the veal and lamb processing facility by performing a variety of manual tasks to ensure efficient production, safety, and cleanliness. Responsibilities may include handling raw materials, trimming, packaging, labeling, sanitation, and assisting with equipment or line setup, all while maintaining compliance with food safety and quality standards. This role will be reporting to the plant manager. The backup for the role is the department leader.

Duties

• Required to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Package fresh meat in bags or film
• Load packages into machinery
• Box and weigh up fresh meat products
• Weight fresh meat
• Place labels on packages and trays
• Apply bone guard to fresh meat
• Dust bone saw particles off fresh meat
• Learn meat cutting skills
• Cutting trim
• Push/Pull pump jack
• Sanitation duties as assigned
• Adhere to all corporate safety procedures
• Comply with all personal protection equipment (PPE) requirements
• Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Heavy lifting ability up to 75+ pounds
• Able to work in a cold environment
• Use company equipment and tools only as properly authorized
• Maintain good attendance
• Work well with co-workers in a team atmosphere
• Self-motivated

Education / Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic reading and writing skills

Related Experience/Requirements

• Meat manufacturing experience is preferred but not required
• Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Job requires workers to lift, step, climb, balance, squat, kneel, bend, and reach above shoulders as needed.
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Work in a cold refrigerated environment

Full-Time $15.50-$16.00
