Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a General Laborer for its Matting Solutions group in Winnie, TX. The role covers on-site labor tasks supporting right-of-way access projects, from site prep to material handling and equipment operation.

You will work in a safety-conscious environment on pipelines, power lines, and civil projects. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and at least 1 year in construction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; fluent reading/writing in English.
• 1+ year experience in construction or related field preferred; knowledge of safety hazards essential.
• Ability to travel out of town during the week or weekends; extensive overtime may be required.
• Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Install erosion and sediment control devices
• Drive wood stakes into the ground with a sledgehammer
• Apply grass seed, fertilizer, lime, straw blanket and straw to restoration areas
• Clean track equipment and clear mud from roads and ROW accesses
• Install T-posts and safety fencing; lay geo-textile fabric
• Load/unload construction materials and tools; spot heavy equipment during operation
