Job summary

Sunstall Inc. is seeking a hardworking General Laborer to join our civil construction team in Columbia, SC. This physically demanding role offers hands-on work on large-scale projects and opportunities to grow with the construction industry.

You will assist with site clearing, grading, and excavation, support underground utilities installation, operate basic tools, and maintain a safe, organized jobsite. Prior civil construction experience is helpful, but willingness to learn and strong safety

Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction is preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in varying weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from site supervisors and heavy equipment operators.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site clearing, grading, and excavation activities.
• Support installation of underground utilities such as water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
• Operate basic hand and power tools including shovels, rakes, jackhammers, and saws.
• Load and unload construction materials, equipment, and supplies from trucks and trailers.
• Perform manual labor tasks such as trenching, backfilling, and compacting soil or gravel.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
