Job summary

Barnhill Contracting Co. in Raleigh, NC is seeking a General Laborer to support asphalt paving and grading crews. You will perform unskilled tasks, operate standard tools, and act as a spotter with training provided. Expect long hours, potential weekends, and nights in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• One year of general labor experience; training provided.
• Valid NC driver’s license encouraged.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks.
• Ability to abide by precise safety rules and maintain attendance.
• Ability to work weekends and some nights.

Responsibilities

• Performs various unskilled tasks associated with asphalt paving and/or grading operations.
• Uses tools such as shovel, rake, lute, broom, pick, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer, drill, tamp and concrete saw.
• May operate a farm-type tractor with power broom attachment.
• Perform duties of the designated spotter, training will be conducted.
• The job requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and other physical motions; heavy lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally.
