Barnhill Contracting Company is seeking a General Laborer for our asphalt paving/grading crews in Southport, NC. The role involves various unskilled tasks, including shoveling and assisting with paving operations, with on-the-job training provided.

Minimum qualifications include one year experience or willingness to train, and a valid NC driver's license is preferred. Expect long hours, weekend work, and safety-focused work environment with strong benefits offerings.

Qualifications

• One year experience but will train the right person
• Valid NC Driver's License preferred
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks
• Ability to abide by precise safety rules and policies
• Maintain a good attendance and safety record
• Ability to work weekends and some nights

Responsabilités

• Performs various unskilled tasks associated with asphalt paving and/or grading operations, including shoveling asphalt, stone or dirt
• Uses tools such as shovel, rake, lute, broom, pick, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer, drill, tamp and concrete saw
• May operate a farm-type tractor with power broom attachment
• Performs duties of the designated spotter, with training provided
