Job summary

MGA Research Corporation in Akron, NY is seeking a full-time General Laborer to support fabrication and testing equipment builds. You will work closely with fabricators and the design team to prepare materials, perform painting, and assist with assembly in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for 8 hours
• Ability to read and comprehend documents such as, fabrication drawings, cutting orders, bills of material
• Experience with mechanical assembly
• Familiarity with painting
• Familiarity with power and hand tools
• Ability independently start and execute tasks
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems as they arise
• Keen attention to detail, coupled with a strong ability to identify errors
• Strong sense of safety with a safe working history

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cut material according to a cut sheet
• Perform industrial spray painting per the project specifications
• Package, label, and ship completed projects to customers
• Order material and parts to satisfy job requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Starting Salary Range: $40,000 - $45,000 per year

Job Summary

MGA Research is an engineering services company with over 40 years of experience providing testing services and test equipment for global customers, including major automotive and aerospace companies along with their suppliers, to bolster safety and innovation within these industries. Our Fabrication Center in Akron, New York designs and builds test equipment such as static and dynamic safety systems, sled and crash facilities, environmental chambers, and pyroshock test systems. As a general laborer, you will work closely with fabricators and the design team to construct advanced equipment.
