Job summary

Torrance Casting Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a General Laborer to perform varied foundry tasks both independently and in teams. You will operate a stand grinding wheel, use hand tools, and set up machinery while handling molds and iron castings on the 2nd shift.

Safety-focused, dependable, and motivated individuals who are willing to learn and get dirty will fit well. You will record work activity on a computer and keep work areas clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or on-the-job experience.
• Ability to operate grinding wheels and hand tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate a stand grinding wheel and hand tools to deburr iron castings.
• Push and place molds on the pouring deck; assist with hoists.
• Move hot castings from conveyor to bins or pallets.
• Set up and operate machinery; record work activity on a computer.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and stocked.

No assembly line here!As a General Laborer, your days will fly by as you stay busy in one or more areas of our foundry working independently or in a team.

Work Schedule

• 2nd Shift 2 pm-10 pm (additional shift differential)

What you will do:

• Operate a stand grinding wheel and various hand tools to deburr iron castings weighing 3 pounds up to 300 pounds.
• Use physical strength to push and place molds on the pouring deck; use hoists to lift and lower weights onto molds.
• Use physical strength to remove hot castings from conveyor to bin or palletize.
• Set up and operate machinery.
• Use a computer to record work activity.
• Keep areas clean, organized, andstocked with supplies necessary to complete work.
