Purpose:

Operates machinery such as hammers, presses, upsetters, bulldozers, shears, drills, and grinders, either alone or as part of a crew, to complete workpieces by performing the following duties.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Runs assigned machines and parts based on specifications and part drawings.
• Ensures workpiece quality meets required specifications.
• Analyzes blueprints to ensure parts are made within quality guidelines.
• Verifies conformance of machined workpieces to specifications.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
• Follows crew leader instructions when working on crew-based machines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED preferred. One to three months of related experience/training, or equivalent.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
• Strong problem-solving skills, data collection, and ability to draw valid conclusions.
• Basic math skills required.
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions.
• Work safely in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Teamwork ability.
• Ability to read and understand setup procedures and operational specifications.
