Job summary

Werner Construction, Inc. in Hastings, Nebraska, is seeking an entry-level General Laborer to assist in road construction projects and follow safety protocols on site. You will perform tasks such as shoveling and raking asphalt, operate basic hand and power tools, help with traffic control, and keep the job site clean.

Training is provided by the company. This is a full-time position with overtime opportunities and potential travel, and includes health, vision and life insurance and paid

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outdoors in varied weather.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• No formal experience required; training provided.
• Willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Raking and shoveling asphalt mixture during paving operations
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools
• Assist with unloading mechanisms on truck trailers
• Perform traffic control and flagging as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe job site
• Possibly operate a skid steer loader after training

The primary role of this position is to do general labor activities related to road construction.

Daily Duties include, but not limited to:

• Raking and shoveling asphalt mixture during paving operations
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools
• Operating unloading mechanism on truck trailers
• Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed
• Follows safety rules and regulations on all job sites
• Occasionally placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices
• Maintain a clean job site
• Potentially operate a skid steer loader (upon proper training)

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work outdoors with possible exposure to inclement weather
• Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
• Experience is not necessary
• Werner Construction will provide all necessary Training
