Job summary

Vonachen Group is seeking a General Laborer in Ames, IA to operate industrial equipment and support cleaning and maintenance tasks. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, reliability, and strong safety awareness.

You will work evenings, including weekends, on a 2pm–10pm shift with a wage of $17.50 per hour and full benefits. The position emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and safe operation of lift equipment and powered tools, with opportunities for daily pay and internal career

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation is required.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, either orally or in writing.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Run a sweeper/scrubber to clean factory floors.
• Safely operate a forklift.
• Operate industrial powered vehicles (e.g., golf carts or Gators).
• Operate aerial lifts to perform tasks above safe reach of a ladder (e.g., scissor lift, articulating lift).
• Operate, pneumatic, battery powered and electric hand tools.
• Assist in building/equipment maintenance duties (e.g., recycling, painting, filter changes, fabrication machinery support, coolant services).
• Maintain a safe work environment following all safety regulations and protocols.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

The General Laborer is responsible for operating industrial power equipment as needed to complete assigned tasks. This person is responsible for maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, providing high quality service levels, adhering to company policies, and assisting to provide a safe working environment. This person must be energetic, enthusiastic, and possess great interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of people and maintain a strong commitment to customer service.

  • Successfully pass training: Lock-Out-Tag-Out, Confined Spaces, Aerial Lifts, Forklift, Gator/Cart, Fall Protection, PPE, and Bloodborne Pathogens
• Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for long periods of time; climb stairs
  • Repeat the same movements
  • Frequent bending and twisting
  • Able to lift, push & pull 50lbs
  • Work at heights to 40 feet
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
