Job summary

Description

AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
  2. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  3. Assemble carts and place cheesecloth and liners into boxes.
  4. Carts and pans need to be thoroughly rinsed in order to remove any soil/debris prior being placed in the bottom washer.
  5. Clean and sanitize all carts and pans. Inspect and re-clean and sanitize if any soil or debris is located.
  6. Load and unload carts into a vacuum chamber and monitor the chamber to ensure proper vacuum pressure and time is met according to the specification.
  7. Seal the blocks.
  8. Inspect, weigh, and tag carts.
  9. Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment, keeping work areas organized.
  10. Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping.
  11. Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation and site policies.
  12. Once experience is gained, assist with training new employees.
  13. Provide assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting.
  14. Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  15. Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  16. Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
