Air Comfort, Inc. is seeking a General Labor – Automotive Yard Helper to assist the Loader Operator with lifting and moving vehicles and parts in the yard, ensuring safe access for customers. The role involves yard upkeep and following directions from the Production Manager to stay on schedule and maintain safety.

This is a physical outdoor role requiring stamina and the ability to work in all weather. A high school diploma is preferred; forklift experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with forklifts preferred but not required.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather and physically active.

Responsibilities

• Maintain yard cleanliness.
• Move vehicle parts to proper locations without damage.
• Communicate with team via radio and in person.
• Work outdoors in rain, cold, heat.
• Handle auto scrapping and remove cores.
• Remove gas tanks and place components as directed.
• Loosen/remove/lift wheels and place appropriately.
• Keep shop and areas clean and organized.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

General Labor - Automotive Yard Helper

Job Summary:

The General Labor – Automotive Yard Helper will be responsible for supporting the Loader Operator to lift and move vehicles and vehicle parts in the yard, from the production shop to yard locations and to ensure vehicles are positioned for customers to access safely. The General Labor – Automotive Yard Helper will perform general yard related duties like row clean up, etc. This position will take direction from the Production Manager to prioritize tasks, communicate, and ensure they are performing their role safely and efficiently and meeting department goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain yard cleanliness
• Move vehicle parts to proper locations without damaging
• Communicate with team throughout the day in person and by radio
• Work outdoors in the elements (rain, cold, heat) for extended periods in a physical role
• Be responsible for automobile scrapping process including removing cores from vehicles
• Remove vehicle gas tanks and place gas tanks/components inside vehicles
• Loosen/remove/lift vehicle wheels/tires/rims and place in vehicles or designated areas
• Address disputes professionally and work to ensure swift resolution and a positive team experience
• Keep shop and shared work areas clean and organized
• Complete other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma, applicable experience preferred not required
• Experience with forklifts preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements:

• Capacity to regularly stand, stoop, kneel or crouch and lift and move up to 75 lbs. regularly
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, climb, bend, talk and actively listen

Compensation/Benefits:

• The pay for this position is $21.00 / hour
