Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. in California is hiring an entry-level plant production worker. The role involves opening bulk cheese, threading product onto the line, operating cutters and shredders, packing cases, and stacking on pallets.

You will support clean, safe operations and basic data entry. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (or 1 year of work experience), basic math and computer skills, and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 1-year demonstrated work experience.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing, warehousing, or dairy preferred.
• Good math skills.
• Proficient computer skills, SAP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operates infeed cheese to cutting or shredding department.
• Manually feed cheese to conveyor belt to scale and wrapper.
• Fill cases with good packages, by count or weight, and palletize.
• Stack completed cases on pallets per product template.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment.
• Fill/operate dry ingredient dispensers as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance on cheese portioning/shredding equipment.
• Report daily production on required forms.
• Handle rejected packages and return to line or trim barrel.
• Maintain sanitation and comply with quality and regulatory requirements.
• Work safely and be willing to overtime.
• May perform other duties as required.

This role opens bulk cheese, places cheese on the line, operates cheese cutters and shredders. Packs cases with finished product, and stacks completed cases on pallets, rotating hourly.

Position Responsibilities

• Operates infeed cheese to cheese cutting or shredding department

• Manually feed cheese to conveyor belt to scale and wrapper.

• Fill cases with good packages, either by count or weight, and put filled cases into carton sealers. (6lb, 20lb, 30lb & 40lbs cases).

• Stack completed cases on pallet, making sure current pallet configuration and count as stated on the product template.

• Clean and sanitize production equipment.

• Fill/operate dry ingredient dispensers as needed.

• Perform minor maintenance tasks on cheese portioning/shredding department.

• Change tape in carton sealers.

• Report daily production on required forms.

• Return rejected packages from the casing area to packing area, open rejected packages on to line or into trim barrel.

• Maintain good sanitation and housekeeping practices. Complies all quality system and regulatory requirements.

• Works in a safe and efficient manner.

• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

• May perform other job duties as required.

Job requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent or (1)-year demonstrated work experience.

• Previous experience in food manufacturing, warehousing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.

• Good math skills.

• Proficient computer skills, software and data entry, SAP a plus.

• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen andbackground check.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, in English.

• Good attendance is a must

Pay Range: $26.31 - $31.05
