Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. in Wisconsin is hiring a Production Attendant to support the cheese packaging line. You will prepare packaging to customer specs, maintain GMP compliance, record data, and help keep production efficient.

The role requires physical activity, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, and willingness to work a 2-2-3 rotating shift with weekend work. Join a team focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP, and H&S.
• Efficiently package cheese into specified packaging materials.
• Identify out-of-spec conditions and follow notification protocol.
• Set up packaging process including machinery and labels.
• Perform quality checks against production sheets.
• Read and understand production worksheets.
• Rotate through all line positions.
• Box and palletize with accurate counts and IDs.
• Sanitize lines when needed.
• Enter data on production reports.
• Adhere to safety policies and SOPs.
• Produce products meeting quality/value expectations.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position follows a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, with shifts running either 5:15 to 5:30 or 4:45 to 5:00, depending on the department. Employees work every other weekend as part of the rotation and are scheduled to work holidays that fall on their assigned workdays.

As a Production Attendant you will prepare packaging in accordance with customer specifications, company policy, and GMP’s. You are also responsible for maintaining accurate records, adhering to all safety measures, and the efficiency of the cheese packaging process.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:

• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to, GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP, and H&S.
• Efficiently package cheese into desired packaging material. Identify and communicate any out-of-spec product conditions; follow the established notification protocol.
• Assist in the set-up of the packaging process, to include machinery, date code printers, computers, product labels, proper vat selection, added ingredients, etc.
• Quality checks to assure product is packaged according to customer specifications on production sheet.
• Ability to read and comprehend production worksheets.
• Able to rotate into all positions on the line.
• Box and palletize boxes according to instructions: ensuring accurate counts and proper identification.
• Sanitize lines when needed.
• Enter data on production reports

You Are Best Suited For The Role If You Have The Following Experiences, Skills, and Qualifications

• Can consistently push, pull, and lift between 20 and 40 pounds.
• Can work with frequent bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, and maneuvering around manufacturing equipment.
• Can continuously stand or walk on a concrete surface.
• Can work scheduled hours and required overtime as needed.
• Have basic analytical and numerical skills and the ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement.
• Can communicate effectively and efficiently.
• Have a working knowledge of Safety Methods and Procedures.
• Are self-motivated, able to multi-task, can work independently, and as part of a team.
• Are committed to food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Demonstrate professionalism and positively represents and promotes Saputo at all times.
• Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid),standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbingstairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
• Physical lifting up to 40-lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift.
• Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.

Pay $25.47 an hour + Shift Differential
