Job summary

Ferrara in Bellwood is seeking a dedicated operator for a 2nd shift role. Duties include coating candy after deposition and curing, plus general duties to support packaging lines. You will set up and run equipment, monitor quality, and maintain a clean work area.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, basic problem solving, ability to pass pallet jack and forklift certification tests, and the fitness to stand or walk for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee coating of candy after deposition and curing prior to packaging.
• Set up and wash down equipment including conveyors, tumblers, laser cleaners, steam tables, weigh belts, vision systems.
• Maintain proper equipment settings and materials quality to ensure output and scrap reduction.
• Perform quality checks and report findings.
• Keep work area clean and organized; identify opportunities to reduce scrap.

Job description

Work Location: Bellwood

Position requires the ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

This is a 2nd shift position - hours are 11:45am to 8:15pm, Monday through Friday.

The position is responsible for coating the candy after it is deposited and cured, prior to packaging, and other general duties as needed.

Ways you will make a difference

• Reviews material paperwork and job orders to ensure the correct materials are being used
• Setup and wash down of equipment i.e. Changeovers of conveyors, tumblers, Laser Cleaners, Steam Tables, weigh belts, vision, and other equipment as area expands
• Proper maintenance of materials and equipment while running orders i.e. proper equipment settings, quality and quantity of sanding materials
• Quality checks and reporting
• Reviews and identifies opportunities to reduce scrap
• Maintaining organized, clean work area

Skills that will make you successful

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic problem solving skills
• Ability to pass certification test on pallet jack and fork lift
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 pounds

Compensation

$22.50 per hour plus a .75 cent per hour shift differential.
