Job summary

AHF Products in Norton, WV is seeking a General Laborer to help keep a steady lumber flow through the sawmill. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, you will perform foundational tasks to support production and safety.

This role requires physical stamina, teamwork, and reliability, with a background in manufacturing preferred. You will operate basic saws and handling tasks, and contribute to equipment maintenance and shop cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check and drug screening.
• Prior sawmill experience preferred.
• Physically lift 20–50 lbs and perform demanding tasks.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Team player with good communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Pull lumber from chain and place in appropriate pack.
• Use crosscut saw to trim bad ends.
• Band finished packs and keep work areas clean.
• Maintain cleanliness and ground maintenance of assigned areas.
• Clean and maintain equipment and perform other mill tasks.

AHF Products has a great career opportunity for a General Laborer located at our Sawmill in Norton, WV. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, you will be responsible for keeping a steady flow of lumber throughout the mill.

Job Duties

• Physically handle lumber by pulling from chain and placing in appropriate pack.
• Use crosscut saw to cut off bad ends.
• Band finished packs.
• Responsible for completing clean-up and ground maintenance of assigned areas.
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment.
• Perform any other work-related task deemed necessary by the mill management.

Job Qualifications

• Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.
• Positive and Verifiable Work History.
• Prior sawmill experience.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Physical Demands

• Push, pull, carry and lift 20 - 50lbs.
• Frequent walking and sitting.
• Regular stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping and other such repetitive movements.
