Job summary

AHF Products' Norton, WV sawmill is hiring a General Laborer to maintain a steady flow of lumber under the supervision of the Mill Supervisor. The role involves manual handling, cutting ends, packing finished packs, and routine cleanup and equipment maintenance.

Qualified candidates will have the ability to lift 20-50 lbs, work in a non-temperature-controlled environment, pass a background check and drug screening, and demonstrate good teamwork and reliability. English communication required.

• Prior sawmill experience preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

JOB DUTIES:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

• Physically handle lumber by pulling from chain and placing in appropriate pack.
• Use crosscut saw to cut off bad ends.
• Band finished packs.
• Responsible for completing clean-up and ground maintenance of assigned areas.
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment.
• Perform any other work-related task deemed necessary by the mill management.

• Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.
• Positive and Verifiable Work History.
• Prior sawmill experience.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
