Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a General Labor associate to safely handle lumber products and verify material meets customer requirements and company standards. You will move, stack, label, and secure materials and assist with other operations as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and accurate record-keeping; basic math is helpful, and candidates must be at least 18. Prior lumber/manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. This on-site position offers steady hours and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic math skills helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
  • Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
  • Label material based on type, size, and count.
  • Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
  • Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
  • Follow stacking instructions per company policy and customer requirements.
  • Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Record production on production sheets.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with other areas by moving material, loading and unloading carts.
  • Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.

  • Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Records production on production sheets
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
  • Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
  • No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Hourly Pay

$17.00 dependent on experience*

  • pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living
Incentive pay

may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives and weekly production bonuses, A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
