Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a General Labor role to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer requirements and company expectations. The position involves moving, stacking, labeling, tagging, and securing material, plus recording production and maintaining an organized workspace.

You will operate staple guns, troubleshoot equipment, and participate in safety programs. Minimum age is 18, and no heavy prior experience is required, with preference for manufacturing or lumber

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Label material based on type, size, and count.
• Attach tags to material before or after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle and secure material and attach corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow instructions for stacking material properly per company policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area; maintain inventory of tags and report discrepancies.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with other areas by moving material, loading/unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
• Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
• Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
• Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work areaMaintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
• Records production on production sheets
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as required
