Job summary

JW Hicks, Inc. in Merrillville, Indiana is hiring General Laborers/Production Workers. This is a Monday–Friday day shift with some overtime on Saturdays.

You will support refractory product production by operating mixers, casting/pressing, and firing in kilns while keeping accurate records in the ERP system. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift 50 lbs, a positive attitude, and passing a post-off/pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Requirements

General Labor/Production Worker Job Responsibilities

• Operate mixers and add minor ingredients to prepare mixes for casting/pressing
• Cast, press or finish product
• Operate overs or kilns to dry and fire product
• Maintain raw material and product identification and record data into ERP system
• Operate forklifts and overhead crane to move materials and work in progress

Qualifications

• Good "hands on" skills with reasonable mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently throughout shift
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must pass a post-off, pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to employment
