Job summary

Standard Iron in Hartford, WI is seeking a General Laborer to join our production team. You will safely deliver defect-free products on time, perform leak testing and TIG weld touch-ups, and support daily production tasks.

Responsibilities include inventory control, equipment operation (forklift), fabrication and grinding, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment in compliance with procedures.

Responsibilities

• Leak testing & repairs: Perform structural integrity and leak testing on fabricated metal tanks; TIG welding touch-ups on leaking areas.
• Inventory process and control.
• Quality & procedure compliance: Follow setup and procedures to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Equipment operation: Safely operate forklift or other machinery for loading/unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting.
• Fabrication & grinding: Use hand and power tools to grind, fabricate, and clean metal surfaces before/after testing and welding.
• Team & production support: Assist production workers and staff in related tasks.
• Safety & workplace maintenance: Maintain a safe and clean environment and follow safety rules and procedures.

The General Laborer at Standard Iron is fully committed to:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Leak Testing & Repairs: Perform structural integrity and leak testing on fabricated metal tanks. Successfully identify defects and utilize the TIG welding process to perform high-quality touch-up repairs on leaking areas.
• Inventory Process and Control.
• Quality & Procedure Compliance: Follow all set-up and operational procedures to ensure absolute accuracy and quality. Practice strict quality control requirements and adhere closely to written procedures.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate a forklift or other machinery in order to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting products.
• Fabrication & Grinding: Use hand and power tools to grind, fabricate, and clean metal surfaces before and after the testing and welding processes.
• Team & Production Support: Actively support production workers and staff in various production-related tasks.
• Safety & Workplace Maintenance: Operate all equipment in a safe manner and use safe work habits. Maintain a safe and clean working environment including complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
