Job summary

Menasha Corporation is seeking a General Labor associate to support production activities and operate various machines on the manufacturing floor. You will work under a supervisor, follow safety policies, and contribute to timely, quality orders in a team environment.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in general labor (manufacturing preferred), ability to work overtime and weekends, and forklift certification.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in general labor (manufacturing preferred).
• Ability to work overtime and weekends.
• Must pass Powered Industrial Truck (forklift) certification.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and systems.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and efficiently using required PPE and follow company policies.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Operate machinery and equipment per training level.
• Perform quality checks and accurate paperwork.
• Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
• Train and support other team members on machinery and responsibilities.
• Collaborate with the Production Department to ensure smooth operations.

About The Opportunity

The general labor position supports production activities to meet business objectives and operates various machines. This person conducts safe, efficient, and timely production of products to satisfy the customer’s orders and specifications. The general labor position follows the supervisor's direction, works well in a team environment and follows all company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective and safety equipment and devices that are required, and comply with all company policies and procedures
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Operate machinery and equipment as required, based on level of training completed
• Perform process quality checks as appropriate, based on assigned responsibilities
• Perform accurate and timely paperwork as required for the responsibilities assigned
• Perform minor machinery and equipment maintenance and repairs as needed
• Assist other team members in the Production Department as needed
• Train employees of less knowledge on machinery, equipment, and responsibilities as assigned
• Perform other duties necessary to the efficient operation of the facility
• Assist Maintenance employees when assigned
• Treat fellow employees, customers, guests, vendors, etc. in a courteous, professional manner at all times
• Escalate impediments to a safe and efficient operation to management and engage in continuously improving aspects of our operation
• Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, preferred
• 1 year of experience in general labor, preference for manufacturing experience
• Able to work overtime and weekends
• Must be able to pass the Powered Industrial Truck (forklift) certification
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Willingness to learn new technologies and systems

Physical Requirements

This position requires walking and standing most of the assigned shift and continuous presence on the manufacturing floor. The manufacturing floor is not climate controlled.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to type, write and or manage tools and equipment. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. Occasionally the employee is required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms (example: climbing stairs or ladders, reaching at, above, and or below shoulder height). The employee must occasionally lift and or move objects 15-25 pounds and above 49 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus to watch video monitor.
